Hi, is there anyway to turn off monitoring for one browser or set Jaksta to only monitor one browser?

I'd like to be able to record a particularly long stream from one browser and use another go to about my other activities without download videos galore that I don't actually want to record.

Unfortunately no.

However you can go to the Downloads tab in the Preferences and set the minimum duration to a high value. This should discard smaller videos shortly after they begin, however indefintely/livestream type videos (live online TV) will still be captured until you cancel them.

Doesn't look like this works unless it knows the duration of the video, so lots of things still make it through. It would nice to be able to record only certain browsers or be able to turn off monitoring while recording the streams already active......

Sure, I will put forward your suggestion. We'll look at this. I cannot promise anything though - if we were to do this it would have to be completely reliable or it will be more trouble than it's worth.
