The audio recording mode in the beta version is still not quite finished yet, it's still a bit rough around the edges. Thanks for letting us know about these problems.
Yes record silence should always keep going if you have "split on silence" switched off - that is what it's supposed to do.

still want to know what exactly is the technical description of non audio silence since you said there was no signal present and that the system was not processing signals

what is the significance of the record silence and split on silence
why doesn't turning on record silence result in lengthy quiet periods after a track ends you would think the recorder would just keep going and going and going like the bunny in the tv commercial
if I turn off split on silence the tracks still perceive the ends of the tracks why???
when I have tracks that have lots of silent parts in them I turn on record silence and turn off split
like for Emerson lake and palmer
