Split the downloaded music file to tracks

I downloaded a music file using the music recorder app. However I need to split multiple tracks of downloaded file. Is there any option fo accomplish it ? Thanks Viji

Hi Viji,

Yes there is in fact a new feature that we built into it just for that very purpose - Audio Capture Mode

You will need to turn the monitoring off by toggling the ON/OFF button down the bottom. Then set it to Audio Capture mode (down the bottom right) and then in Preferences > Audio Capture make sure it is set to Split on Silence. This will make it so when one track finishes and there is silence or a break between that song and the next, then the Audio Capture will stop and then start again as a different file when the volume level picks up. Then turn the monitoring back on and start playing the track.

As it is capturing the output audio rather than ripping it from a stream, the file needs to be played the whole way through and the audio will be captured from the device in real time. Make sure you have no other audio playing at the same time or sound effects being generated by your Mac (notifications and such), otherwise they will also be included in the audio capture.

Unfortunately there is no way to split the tracks after the file has already been captured as a whole (unless you want to use different audio editing software to split them manually). You may also have to tinker with the settings in Preferences to accomplish the result you are after.

I hope this is what you were looking for!

Hi Liam

Each song has multiple tracks isn't it ?  I need to split the tracks recorded within one song.

My question was not about the splitting one song with the next.

Thanks

Viji

Hi Viji,

When you say separate tracks do you mean like vocals, bass, acoustics etc.? If that is what you mean, then you will need to use some other software for the separation process. Jaksta Music Recorder does not have any features to further breakdown or process the music files.

Let me know if that is not the case and I will see what I can do to help.
