spinning wheel of death

I redownloaded -- and presumably paid for -- Jaksta when my old version quit recording. My new version never opens fully on my Mac. I get the color wheel at once and it never stops. "Force quit" show that it's not responding.

Can I get a version that works on Mac?

Hi Gray,

What version of Jaksta and Mac OS are you running? If you are running an old version of either then updating would probably be a good start.

Aside from that I would suggest doing a basic reinstall. If that doesn't work then I would try a full reinstall. If there is a break in the programs processes then a reinstall should reset them.

Basic reinstall - uninstall (delete app from Applications), reboot, reinstall

Full reinstall -uninstall (delete app from Applications), then in Finder go to the top menu and then access Go > (holding one of shift/alt/control/command) Library > Application Support > Jaksta Media Recorder and delete that folder (NOTE: doing this will erase your library file list in Jaksta, but your downloaded/converted files will remain intact). Reboot the Mac and then do a reinstall of the latest version (https://www.jaksta.com/download/mac/jaksta-media-recorder) and it will regenerate a new copy of the deleted folder and the application files.

Let me know if you continue to have problems.

I reinstalled. For a while an old activation code worked. Then the problem recurred. I've redownloaded but no activation code from the lengthy list works.

My Mac system is up to date.

Help.

I can't activate the newly downloaded application without an activation code. It looks like that entails buying the damn thing again.

Hi Gray,

You should not have to make any other purchases.

Have you done a FULL reinstall as outlined above?

For some reason it looks like like you purchased and never used a V1 Jaksta for Mac license when you already had a Deluxe license, so I have refunded that.

If a FULL reinstall does not resolve the issue can you please supply your Mac technical specs and OS details and the version of Jaksta your are trying to run.

If it is failing to start as you say then there is a good chance there will be a Crash Report available. You can find it by opening Console and then going to User Reports.

You will want to get the latest Jaksta crash file (if there is one) and then attach it here.

I have deleted your other forum post as there is no need for it, as we can follow the history here and it will just make things messy.

It's happening again. Colorwheel "not responding." I scrubbed it, redownloaded it, sought to install it. I recognized none of my activation keys -- just sat there.

What gives?

Hi Gray,

Please supply a screenshot of the problem and any activation codes you are attempting to use.

Send them privately to support@jaksta.com
