Hi Sylvie,
Can you start by turning off the 'Always Record...' settings in Preferences > Streaming (see attached image), and then try again.
If its still fails, can you tell me if you have at any point attempted to follow the video to its source page on Vimeo and then download it from there (if possible)?
Can you please send me a link to the site/video so that I can test it?

Turned off "always record" as you suggested and this fixed the issue. THANKS!!

The videos I am trying to download are vimeo videos but they are pop up videos on a site. I either get zero bytes QT file or small files that are only 8 seconds long
