Hi Detlef,
Can you please supply us with a link to an example video that is giving you this problem?
If login credentials are needed and you are comfortable with it, can you please send them to us at support@jaksta.com
Can you also please supply a clean log?
To get a clean log, you will need to do the following:
- Update to the latest version of Jaksta Media Recorder
- Open JMR
- Go to Preferences > General > Find Log File
- Close JMR but keep the Finder window with the log file open
- Delete the log file and still keep the Finder window open
- Reopen JMR (this will generate a new log file)
- Run one test on a standard video stream that you know gives an error/fails
- Close JMR once it fails or wait until it crashes
- Go back to the Finder window with the new log file and attach it here (don't copy and paste the code in it - send the file itself)

Hi Liam,
on the ZDF weblink I provided in my initial post there are plenty of example videos. None can be downloaded anymore. Below are a couple videos from the ZDF website.
https://www.zdf.de/filme/der-fernsehfilm-der-woche/das-maedchen-aus-dem-totenmoor-108.html
https://www.zdf.de/filme/taunuskrimi/im-wald-1---ein-taunuskrimi-100.html
Attached is the log file. For the new log file I tried to download the Taunuskrimi video.

Hi Detlef,
Can you please trying turning OFF the two 'Always Record...' options under Preferences > Streaming.
If it still doesn't work then can you make another clean log file and test the same video.
Make sure you only test the one video and only test the auto capture mode - don't do a URL bar test.

It is still not working. See attached log file.
Actually normally I never use these two 'Always record ..' options. I just tried whether that would solve the problem. It didn't.
In the past when it was possible to download videos from ZDF I had these settings turned off.

HI Detlef,
We have a new beta that I would like you to try.
I would suggest installing by going through the process of a full reinstall.
What you will need to do is delete the app (uninstall) from Applications instead of just reinstalling over it. Then in Finder go to the top menu and then access Go > (holding one of shift/alt/control/command) Library > Application Support > Jaksta Media Recorder and delete that folder (NOTE: doing this will erase your library file list in Jaksta, but your downloaded/converted files will remain intact in their destination folders). Reboot the Mac and then do a reinstall of the latest beta (https://cdn.shedworx.com/jaksta/beta/2.2.3_259/JakstaMediaRecorder.pkg) and it will regenerate a new copy of the deleted folder and the application files.
If the problem continues could you please do one more test on the same video and send through one more clean log.

Hi Detlef,
I have passed this issue onto development who have told me that a fix should be possible in the near future.
I will let you know either when I have a proper ETA or when it is ready.

Hello Liam,
on another Mac of mine I found an older version of Jackets Media Recorder. Its is: Version 2.1.0 (249). With this version I can download videos from the ZDF website.

Hi,
until about a month ago or less it was possible to download programs from ZDF. But this is no longer possible.

How come?
Will there be a workaround for this problem soon?

Detlef
