Jaksta Media Recorder 2.2.5 does NOT work on macOS Big Sur

 Hello Jaksta Support,

Jaksta Media Recorder 2.2.5 does NOT work on macOS Big Sur.  When will this be fixed?

I'm getting the error "Your connection is not private" on Google Chrome.  Please see the attached error screenshots from Google Chrome and Firefox.

Please make sure to release the fix for this problem so that Jaksta Media Recorder will work on macOS Big Sur.

Can you please try installing and running our latest beta? You can get the installer here: https://download.shedworx.com/jaksta/beta/2.2.6_298/JakstaMediaRecorder.pkg

When you first attempt to run the installer you will receive a Mac OS notification saying that it can't be opened because it cannot be checked for malicious software. Click 'OK' and then go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General and click on 'Open Anyway' down the bottom. It will either run the installer or another similar notification as the first will appear and you just need to click 'Open' and then the installer will run.

Please report back on whether this resolves your issue.

2.2.5 works for me on Big Sur, but it crashes when I make changes to Preferences, like location of downloads. The changes take hold when it reopens. Would the beta you mention here fix that?

It's very hard to say as we've not had that issue reported before, and without troubleshooting the issue it's hard to know the cause and what would resolve it.

If a basic reinstall - uninstall (delete from Applications), reboot, reinstall - does not sort it then there is a fair chance that updating to the beta might.
